(8) Chapter: Odd numbers when rinsing the nose and cleaning oneself with pebbles (istijmar)

باب الإِيتَارِ فِي الاِسْتِنْثَارِ وَالاِسْتِجْمَارِ ‏‏

It has been transmitted by Abu Huraira and Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (both of them the reputed Companions of the Holy Prophet) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said like that.

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلاَنِيُّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، وَأَبَا، سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولاَنِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏ بِمِثْلِهِ ‏.‏
