(54) Chapter: Concerning the two rak`ah that the Prophet (saws) used to pray after `Asr

باب مَعْرِفَةِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ كَانَ يُصَلِّيهِمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ

Aswad and Masruq reported:

We bear testimony to the fact that ‘A’isha said: Never was there a day that he (the Holy Prophet) was with me and he did not observe two rak’ahs of prayer in my house, i. e. two rak’ahs after the Asr.

وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ، بَشَّارٍ قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، وَمَسْرُوقٍ، قَالاَ نَشْهَدُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ مَا كَانَ يَوْمُهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَكُونُ عِنْدِي إِلاَّ صَلاَّهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي بَيْتِي ‏.‏ تَعْنِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ ‏.‏
