(3) The Statement of Allah the Most High: "He (Abu Lahab) will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames!" (V.111:3)

باب قَوْلِهِ ‏{‏سَيَصْلَى نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ‏}‏

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

Abu Lahab said, “May you perish! Is it’ for this that you have gathered us?” So there was revealed:’Perish the hands of Abu Lahab’.

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ أَبُو لَهَبٍ تَبًّا لَكَ أَلِهَذَا جَمَعْتَنَا فَنَزَلَتْ ‏{‏تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ‏}‏‏.‏
