(59) Chapter: It is recommended to halt at Al-Muhassab on the day of departing from Mina and to perform Zuhr and subsequent prayers there

باب اسْتِحْبَابِ النُّزُولِ بِالْمُحَصَّبِ يَوْمَ النَّفْرِ وَالصَّلاَةِ بِهِ ‏‏

Salim reported that Abu Bakr, ‘Umar and Ibn Umar used to halt at Abtah. ‘Urwa narrated from ‘A’isha (Allah be pleased with her) that he did not observe this practice and said:

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) halted there, for it is a place from where it was easy to depart.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَابْنَ، عُمَرَ كَانُوا يَنْزِلُونَ الأَبْطَحَ ‏.‏ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَتْ إِنَّمَا نَزَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأَنَّهُ كَانَ مَنْزِلاً أَسْمَحَ لِخُرُوجِهِ ‏.‏
