(24) Chapter: The Prohibition Of Cursing Animals Etc.

باب النَّهْىِ عَنْ لَعْنِ الدَّوَابِّ، وَغَيْرِهَا، ‏‏

Abu Huraira reported it was said to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ):

Invoke curse upon the polytheists, whereupon he said: I have not been sent as the invoker of curse, but I have been sent as mercy.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ، – يَعْنِيَانِ الْفَزَارِيَّ – عَنْ يَزِيدَ، – وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ – عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَالَ ‏ “‏ إِنِّي لَمْ أُبْعَثْ لَعَّانًا وَإِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ رَحْمَةً ‏”‏ ‏.‏
