كتاب الْمَسَاجِدِ وَمَوَاضِعِ الصَّلاَةِ

(38) Chapter: The beginning of the time for Maghrib when the sun sets

باب بَيَانِ أَنَّ أَوَّلَ وَقْتِ الْمَغْرِبِ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ ‏

Rafi’ b. Khadij reported:

We used to observe the evening prayer with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and then one of us would go away and he could see the (distant) place where his arrow would fall.

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الرَّازِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو النَّجَاشِيِّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ، يَقُولُ كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَيَنْصَرِفُ أَحَدُنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَيُبْصِرُ مَوَاقِعَ نَبْلِهِ ‏.‏
