(13) Chapter: Keeping the prayer and khutbah short

باب تَخْفِيفِ الصَّلاَةِ وَالْخُطْبَةِ ‏

‘Amra daughter of Abd al-Rahman reported on the authority of the sister of Amra:

I memorised (surah) “Qaf, by the glorious Qur’an” from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on Friday for he recited it on the pulpit on every Friday.

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، بْنُ بِلاَلٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُخْتٍ، لِعَمْرَةَ قَالَتْ أَخَذْتُ ‏{‏ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ‏}‏ مِنْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ ‏.‏
